Nesting low tables

A very specific design brief was given in this instance: To create a contemporary nest of tables that give an element of surprise when being divided.

Pigments have been used to connect the piece to the natural stone floor while adding bold contrast above. The top is made of a single five meter British Ash plank to provide continuity of grain and colouring.

Each table has a textured serpentine lower structure providing stability while small magnetic location pins have been engineered to pop-out when the tables are pushed back together.

Details.

Dimensions: L 1800 x w 400 x h 400 (mm)

Materials: Pigmented British Ash (FSC)

Finish: Brushed/bandsawn with lacquer

Private commission

”After being impressed with a previous commission Kristian had produced for us we requested his help once again.”

“The brief was to produce a modern version of a 70s style nest of tables. A unique coffee table that would stand alone as a complete piece but could be separated and distributed around the room. The base of the table Kristian designed took the colours of the stone floor making it look as if it “grew” from the room and the top matched the colours of the bifold doors tying the piece into the rooms decor.”
