Cross banded cabinet

Specifically designed to house a varied collection of items and remain adaptable for the future, the cross banded cabinet is a bold design that had to be executed with sensitivity. By matching the cabinet colours to the existing interior the main visual impact of the pattern is the natural texture of the Ash, enhanced through light reflection and shadow detail.

The initial concept developed from trying to prevent the large cabinet from being a sheer visual wall when entering the room. Using traditional marquetry techniques in a contemporary context the cabinet has a three dimensional quality breaking up the surface.

All contained Items were specifically measured and located depending on their usage and ease of access on a daily basis.
